Abstract : When you're out shopping and buying all sorts of things, it's important to know what you “want” and “like”, making sure you always get exactly what you wanted to buy! But just as important, you must be able to say what you “don’t” want or like! Learn that in Chinese "want" is "yào" and "like" is "xǐhuān"and by putting the word "bù" in front of either, you can instantly make it a negative!

FOR EXAMPLE:

If you want to say “I want to buy tea” you’re probably wondering how we can put two verbs together.
“To buy” in Mandarin is “mǎi”. By the way, “to sell” is “mài”.
You try first then come back to me. Can you do it by yourself?
The correct way is:

Wǒ yào mǎi kāfēi. I want to buy coffee. |
我要买咖啡。 |

Wǒ yào mǎi chá. I want to buy tea. |
