你好~
quick questions..

can anyone tell me the difference between.. 日 and 天. Don’t they both mean “day”?

also…

Why do you have put a “个" on the end of.. “这个” ? I know “这” means “this” but why the “个”. If anyone can help with these, it would be greatly appreciated!

xiexie!

nǐ hǎo, James. 日 is quite formal, usually you can see this word in some written materials. while 天 is widely used in daily life as “day”

“个” is a measure word, it is used as “one”, therefore “this one” is “这个”

In English you can say either “I want this or I want this one” but as in Chinese you have to say “I want this one”
