Hi, Thank you so much for creating this site. Thanks to someone else’s question i was able to find the first white belt lessons. However, I notice that certain pinyin letters are showing up as empty boxes, for example
nǐ 你 you

- hǎo 好 good

- nǐ hǎo 你好 hello

- wǒ 我 I/me

There are many more like this. Why are those boxes being displayed instead of the letters. For example in wo, it’s just a regular letter o so why am I getting that blank box instead of an O. Is there something that needs to be updated in my browser?
I am running Internet Explorer version 6 (the 128 bit version) on Windows XP SP2.
Fortunately , the video content displays fine so I know what the missing letters are , at least in that first lesson I watched but I am hoping there is something I can patch with that will let those characters display correctly in the web pages written notes.

Ni hao Meir! Welcome to my site!

The box you saw is actually the letter with tones, which may not be shown normally in some browsers. Please have a try with another browser: Firefox. You can download it here:

Let me know if it works!

Ni hao, Benny.

Thanks so much for your response. I installed Firefox and the pinyin characters read fine in it.
For some strange reason IE reads some and blanks out others.
I will just use Firefox for sites that do this (and perhaps for most of my browsing now!)

Xiexie!
