你好! I’m new here. I’ve just had my first Mandarin lesson! I wanted to know the difference between the simplified and the traditional chinese. I hope someone can help me! 谢谢! 再见!

Hi.Lury paz. Welcome! First, i should tell you that the simplified and the traditional chinese have the same meaning. But the traditional one is more complicated to write. we used it forty years ago. Nowadays, in the main land of China, we use the simplified,but in HongKong,Taiwan area, they still use the old one.

So, let me use a easy description: traditional chinese is an old version of that language. and the simplified one is the new one. We like to use that.
