I just have a general question – not something I really need to know, but just to be more friendly…

Do the Chinese have a way of cutting letters out of words – I mean, for example, is there a way of saying “it’s” rather than “it is”? Or “you’re” instead of “you are”?

Interesting question. There’s no such kind of way of cutting letters in Chinese
