‘Visit’ can be considered different meanings in Mandarin. It could be ‘lǚ yóu’ (travel), cān guān (lookaround), tàn qīn (visit family or friends), etc.
so we say:
Huí Táiwān lǚ yóu/cān guān/tàn qīn
我回台湾 旅游/参观/探亲
