Hi Benny,

i have some questions. If i make a phone call, how can i say:

- he is not in the office right now/ he is in a meeting right now
- can i take a message?
- who is speaking? <- is not only “shei a”, right?

And if i’m working in a company and our clients are calling. I pick up the phone, what can i say?

> wei2? XYZ gong1si1…what else? Maybe also: here is “my name” (first name or last name?), how can i help you? < zenme shuo?

thanks in advance

Thanks Sugelanren :)

And how does Chinese people (working in a company) say if they pick up the phone? Maybe: “喂? xyz 公司. How can i help you?” What does “how can i help you” in Chinese mean on the phone?

Thanks for helping!

Hi cheek,

In fact, in China normally, the reception doesn’t say “how can I help you” in Chinese. They just say “ABC company, ni hao”
