hey, i have never really understood the use of the particle ba in a sentence please help! oh n btway asante sana benny(Thank you so much) for your cool chinese website, it is so helpful.

Here are the ways to use “吧 ba”,
1. Normally, we put it at the end of the statement for a request, command, suggestion or discussion.
wǒ men qù yóu yang ba = let’s go for a swim
2. Normally, it has been put at the end of statement for “agreement”
hao ba = OK/ agree
3. We also put it at the end of statement for a kind of “uncertainty”, the tone of the sentence is more “gentle”
That person will be his wife I suppose = wǒ xiǎng, nà ge rén shì tā de tài tai ba.
