Hi Benny, please have a look at the following Chinese dialogue:
A: 最多时候,有三十多家儿呢
B: 啊 是吗 有三十多家
A: 有三十多家儿,十几户儿都有
B: 是吗 那这个院子应该特别大才行
What’s the use of 才行 in the last sentence of the dialogue? If Person B said “那这个院子应该特别大”, isn’t 应该 enough? Why put 才行 at the end of the sentence and what does it mean?
Thanks!

Hi Lee Kong,
才行 here is translated as “it has to be…..”
Benny But 应该 also means “shoud be”, or “it should be”, or “it has to be”, then why repeat “it has to be” twice by putting 应该 and 才行 in the same sentence? | |
