What does it mean when chinese people say something like “ai-o”? I don’t know the actual spelling, but people say it all the time, maybe for expressing some emotion.

Hi suzhoufan,

“ai” is most likely used to express the emotion of surprise and questioning. While “O” is mostly used as “I understand” or “ok”
