hi a monthe ago i found a book his name was learn chinese i opened it the book said hello or hi meens ni khao but i saw when you spaeking you say ni hao not khao i want to know which word is corect.
note:in arabic there is a big difrence between khao and hao so i need to know which is correct
anthor note : iam not so good at english so exicuse me if there any mistace at writing but i really want to learn chinese wright.thanks

Hi sassou,

The correct or the standard is “nǐ hǎo”.

But I think the reason to use “khao” in this book is just to help westerners to pronounce in a phonetic way.

Because for the first timers, it’s hard to know how to say “hao” correctly, that’s probably why they put “k” before.
