Hi Benny,

Whats the diff. between qian4 and que1 in the context of owe? I mean cant i say something like wo3 hai2 que1 ni3 duo1 shao3 qian2?

Hello Nicholas,

Qian and que are totally different. Qian means own sth. In your case, you shall say “wo hai qian ni duo shao qian”?

Que means be lack of sth. E.g. I am lack of some books= wo que yi xie shu.

Qian que does not have any “owe” meaning.
