Benny,
I’ve heard that i can say “na li, na li” if someone gives me a compliment and i want to be modest. Is this correct?

Benny Hello Kevin,
You are right, this reminds me of a funny story 故事 gùshì.
A Dutch delgation wend to China. Along with them a
Chinese came a translator 翻译家 fānyìjiā. At the diner of the Chinese minister of foreign affairs, our minister complimented the wive of the foreign minister by saying, "You are truly very beatiful 你真很漂亮 nǐ zhēn hěn piāo liàng " whereupon the minister’s wive said, " 哪里,哪里 nǎlǐ, nǎlǐ". The Chinese translator translated it as “where” (the literal meaning of na li 哪里,哪里). The Dutch minister flushed and was dumbfounded…..
万事如意
