Hey Sara, me again…
To send has many meanings depending on the background, such as it can mean “fa1”, “ji4”,“song4”. E.g. send me a message= fa gei wo yi tiao xiao xi; send a letter= ji yi feng xin; and send me home= song wo hui jia.

To receive is more simple which means “shou dao”.

送 sòng for example would you like to send her back to San Francisco? ni yuan yi ba ta song hui San Francisco ma ?
送给 song gei 发给 fa gei 寄给 ji gei etc.
2、
receive
收到 shou dao 接受 jie shou
wo shou dao yi feng xin = i receive a letter .
