“same” and “different” in Mandarin?

We have the same problem.

We have many similarities.

He is quite different than the average Chinese.

What is the difference between China and France?

The difference is China is bigger.

How do I say and use the word “answer” and “reply”?
Answer a question.
Answer the phone, email, and message.

Reply back for an email.

Hey Sara,

Same in Chinese means “xiang1 tong2” or “yi1 yang4”. Different means “bu4 tong2” or “bu yi yang”.

Answer and reply have the same meaning of “hui fu” or “hui da”. E.g. Thanks for your reply= xie xie ni de hui fu. Here hui fu is a noun. But you may also say please reply to me= qing gei wo hui fu( noun) or qing hui fu (here is a verb) wo.

You example of “answer the phone/email” can be translated as “hui dian hua/you jian”. We omit “fu”.

1. I have the same book as you = wǒ hé nǐ yǒu yí yàng de shū

2. We have the same problem = wǒ men yǒu yí yàng de wèn tí

3. I have a different problem = wǒ yǒu yi ge bú yí yàng de wèn ti

4. We’re the same = wǒ men shì yí yàng de

5. We have many similarities = wǒ men yǒu hěn duō xiāng tóng de dì fang

6. He is quite different than the average Chinese = tā hé pǔ tōng de zhōng guó rén bù yí yàng

7. What is the difference between China and France? = zhōng guó hé fǎ guó de qū bié zài nǎ li?
here “difference = qū bié”

8. The difference is China is bigger = qū bié shì zhōng guó gèng dà
