Ni hao! How do you say, “Happy Sabbath!” Sabbath is rest day for Seventh Day Adventists. We greet each other that way during Saturday when we go to church. Xie xie ni!

Hi Jemarie, in Chinese “Sabbath” is “安息日 = ān xī rì”. And Happy Sabbath is 安息日快乐 = ān xī rì kuài lè.

The problem is Chinese people may not understand if they don’t have the similar religious background. You probably need to explain to them

Thank you Benny for your answer. We all have the same religious background in our Mandarin class. We are still in our 3rd session and it’s only once a week. I’m so very interested to learn that’s why waiting for a week for the session is such a long time for me. It’s so fortunate that I stumbled upon your wonderful website. Thanks once again.
