Ni hao! How do you say, “Happy Sabbath!” Sabbath is rest day for Seventh Day Adventists. We greet each other that way during Saturday when we go to church. Xie xie ni!

| | Benny the Mandarin Teacher bennysland.com 2009-05-22 / 04:47PM | | Hi Jemarie, in Chinese “Sabbath” is “安息日 = ān xī rì”. And Happy Sabbath is 安息日快乐 = ān xī rì kuài lè.
The problem is Chinese people may not understand if they don’t have the similar religious background. You probably need to explain to them
Benny

| | Jemarie Ragudo yahoo.com 2009-05-23 / 09:44PM | | Thank you Benny for your answer. We all have the same religious background in our Mandarin class. We are still in our 3rd session and it’s only once a week. I’m so very interested to learn that’s why waiting for a week for the session is such a long time for me. It’s so fortunate that I stumbled upon your wonderful website. Thanks once again. | |
