Hey benny aka the best mandarin teacher in the world,

Thank you for answering my questions! However, I still have many questions. You wrote, Lìng wài means other but I’ve heard Chinese people use qi2 ta1. Which is used for which occasion?

Also, how would I say “to mean” or “what does X mean?.”?

mei guo shi USA de yi2 si4. Correct?
Mei guo means USA.

mei guo shi shenme de yi si? Correct?
What does Mei Guo mean?

How do you say X?
How do you say America in Mandarin?
America shi4 zen3me shuode?

If some of these sentences are already correct, then just write what an average Mandarin would use for these sentences.
