Hey Benny, I commented once earlier on one of your videos. I have been studying Mandarin for 5 months now, and I am advancing well beyond my expectations. I was curious about something, though. When I was at a Chinese restaurant, I said to the waiter “Wǒ xiǎng chá”, and he told me that I should instead say “Wǒ xiǎng yào chá.” Is this proper dialect?

in fact, xiang yao = would like to have. If you put xiang before the nouns, it only means to miss someone or something
