As far as I know, you don’t pronounce the tone marks when singing. Does it make it difficult for you to understand a chinese song listened for the first time? It sure might lead into confusion sometimes.. do songwriters play with this ambiguities?

Hi Isaac, you’re right, it is a bit difficult to understand a Chinese song for the first time especially for a foreigner.

That’s why you need the lyrics when you listen to the song for the first time or listen for more times, then you can fully understand.
