Dear Benny,

Your lessons are excellent, my brain drinks in your lessons like a sponge takes in water.

I have a question about different Pinyin consonants (some consonants seem to be very similar in sound):

Especially a big problem:

“Q” =?= “CH”
“J” =?= “ZH”

but This one is not really a big problem:
Z =?= “C”

Would you PLEASE make a Video about Mandarin consonants that sound similar: ( Q with CH, and J with ZH)???

**
I am studying Mandarin with a Book/CD set, but it does a poor job of explaining the Similar Consonants.

**Thank you very much for Sharing your great culture, my friend, Benny,

Sincerely,

Andrei Cesin

Hi Andrei Cesin,

Welcome to Bennysland and thanks for your great comment. Let me explain the Q & J.

Q sounds like “ch” from “cheese”, and J sounds like “j” from “jeep”

As for the other consonants, I think the best way to explain it is to make a video, because it’s clear and with a voice.

I will schedule a video shooting with my team.

Thank you so much for the suggestions, and if you need any help, just let me know

Benny Feng
