Benny, have a look at the following piece of dialogue from some Hong Kong gangster movie:
谁碰他我就干掉谁
The above sentence can be literally translated as:
“who touches him, I will kill who”
Is it common in Chinese to say “kill who” meaning “kill whoever touches him”?
In English we might say, “Whoever touches him, I will kill HIM/HER” not “kill WHO” because this doesn’t make sense in English.
