hey benny ni hao wo – wo hen hao
your answers really helped me but i have another question if you dont mind :sometimes there are no sings above the vowels like ‘’ ma’’ but in another video ‘’ma ’’ did have a sign you know the flat one so i wanted to ask if there is any difference and if an ’’a’’ without a sign is also a vowel on it’s own or if the sign was just omitted

If “ma” is at the end of a sentence, it should be toneless. Usually it’s a question mark, just like the above question “Nǐ hǎo ma” (How are you)? If you see a “ma” in between a sentence, then it may have different tones pending on different meanings. | |
