Hey Benny. Is there a big difference between Shanghai Mandarin and Beijing Mandarin?

Mandarin is the official language in China.
Beijing dialect and Shanghai dialect are two local languages. However, Beijing dialect is very similar to mandarin. If you understand mandarin, it is easy to under beijing dialect. This does not work for shanghai dialect.
