Ni hao Benny,
I’m a person who are very interested in learning chinese language. I’m from middle east. my mother language is Arabic. I tried actually to learn chinese. Not only just speaking. I want to learn how to speak, read and write in chinese. So, if you dont mind, would you just guide me to the right way and the right books to learn chinese language from A to Z.
Actaully, I tried so hard to remember how to write chinese syllables. But I didnt find any comunications between those writing systems. Thats why I’m asking to guide to the rules and grammers of writing, speaking and reading.

Regrading to the books, I would recommend you to buy the books with CD or DVD. There are so many books of Mandarin Learning and they are all similar to each other, the only thing to make a difference is just CD or DVD, because it’s easier for you to learn how to prounounce.
As for the Syllables, the only way to remember is just to practice, also speaking and writing are 2 different learning systems, for a beginner, I would not suggest you to learn them at the same time, espeically if you have a job.
May I ask you, where are you based now? China or your hometown?

I heard once that if I want to speake in chinese good, I have to learn at least 1500 chinese words. And if I want to be expert in chinese, I have to learn over 3000 words. All of it ok, but I didnt figure any comunication between the words to make it easier to remember the words. I bought many books and one text speech translator. for the books I know how to use it. But for the translator I dont know how to use it. Beacause I dont know how to use the key board to write chinese word. Thats why I like learn even writing. I dont have here any one to ask here. I need to depend on myself.
