what is the diff. between kan4, kan4 jian4 and kan4 dao4?

I may give you some tips to use these three words:
kàn+ n. eg:kàn diàn yǐng =watch a movie

kàn jiàn+ sth happen eg: kàn jiàn tā qù kàn diàn yìng= I saw he went to watch a movie.

kàn dào+n./sht happen eg: wǒ kàn dào zhǔ xí le= I have met President. “zhǔ xí”= President

wǒ kàn dào tài yáng le =I have seen the sun. “tài yáng”= the sun

Kàn jiàn = saw (past tense of “see")

E.g. zuó tiān wǒ kàn jiàn Benny = I saw Benny yesterday.

Kàn dào is same as “kàn jiàn”

kàn = look at/ look/ watch/ visit somebody

kàn kàn = to have a look

kàn diàn yǐng = watch movie

kàn péng you = visit friends
