Hello everyone, welcome to Micro-Class. I am Benny, your Mandarin teacher. In today's micro-class we will learn a very important word which is “but”, in Chinese we say “dànshì”, “dànshì”.
For example:
“Wǒ hěn lèi, dànshì wǒ bìxū gōngzuò.”
“Wǒ hěn lèi, dànshì wǒ bìxū gōngzuò.”
It means: “I am very tired, but I must work.”
“Tired” is lèi
“Must” is “bìxū”, “bìxū”
while, “to work” is “gōngzuò”.
So, the whole sentence is “Wǒ hěn lèi, dànshì wǒ bìxū gōngzuò.”
All right, guys, did you get it? Don't worry, come with me, let's see how we use it!
