Hello everyone, welcome to AskBennyChinese.Com Micro-Class! This is Benny! The most popular Mandarin teacher in the world. Today our experience is about how to say “I work in Shanghai”.
In Chinese we say:
“Wǒ zài Shànghǎi gōngzuò.”
“Wǒ zài Shànghǎi gōngzuò.”
“Wǒ” means “I”.
“Zài” means “to be in” and “to be at”.
“Zài” means “to be in” and “to be at”.
While “Shànghǎi”, I don’t need to explain, everyone knows Shanghai.
“gōngzuò” is “to work”.
And there is a sentence structure, which is:
Zài + place + gōng zuò
It means:
“Work in” or “at place”.
Therefore, the whole sentence is:
“Wǒ zài Shànghǎi gōngzuò.”
“Wǒ zài Shànghǎi gōngzuò.”
I work in shanghai.
All right, did you get it? Come with me! Let’s see if it works.
Benny : wǒ zài Shàng hǎi gōng zuò. Bobo : wǒ yě shì. [Let’s see that close up] Benny : wǒ zài Shàng hǎi gōng zuò. Bobo : wǒ yě shì.
