Nǐ hǎo! Today's experience is about expressing your opinion when you have a discussion or conversation with your colleagues or friends. Let's start with new words,
tóngyì |
同意 |
agree |
rènwéi |
认为 |
think |
zhǔyi |
主意 |
idea |
gěi |
给 |
give |
dǎ diànhuà |
打电话 |
call |
FOR EXAMPLE:
Wǒ rènwéi zhè shì yī gè hǎo zhúyi. I think this is a good idea. |
我认为这是一个好主意。 |
Wǒ tóngyì. I agree. |
我同意。 |
I sure these two sentences are frequently used in daily life, so be familiar with them, and give your friends a surprise! Of course sometimes you have the opposite opinion. In that case, simply put “bù”, which means “don't”, in front of the verb. So now you can express your opinion with ease.
FOR EXAMPLE:
Wǒ rènwéi zhè bù shì yī gè hǎo zhǔyi. I do not think this is a good idea. |
我认为这不是一个好主意。 |
Wǒ bù tóngyì. I do not agree |
我不同意。 |
There is a difference between English and Mandarin, that in English we say “I don't think...”, but in Mandarin, usually we say “I think this is not..”. Keep that in mind, you will speak as a local.
Sometimes you may need to think about what you've discussed, and get back to them, you can say.
Wǒ míngtiān gěi nǐ dǎ diànhuà. I will give you a call tomorrow. |
我明天给你打电话。 |
“Diànhuà” means “phone”, and “dǎ diànhuà” means “make a phone call”. Ok, that's today's experience. Keep practicing. wǒ gěi nǐ dǎ diànhuà, I will give you a call, to see how's your progress!
It's easy as ABC!
