Nǐ hǎo! Welcome to Benny’s Experience. Today, we will learn how to invite people out. As before, let’s learn some new words first:
kòng |
空 |
free time |
shíjiān |
时间 |
time |
jīntiān wǎnshang |
今天晚上 |
tonight |
qǐng |
请 |
invite |
zǎofàn |
早饭 |
breakfast |
wǔfàn |
午饭 |
lunch |
wǎnfàn |
晚饭 |
dinner |
yuēhuì |
约会 |
date |
Now first you need to know whether the person you are going to invite is available:
FOR EXAMPLE:
Nǐ jīntiān wǎnshang yǒukòng ma? Are you free tonight? |
你今天晚上有空吗? |
Zhège xīngqī liù nǐ yǒu shíjiān ma? Do you have time this Saturday? |
这个星期六你有时间吗? |
Remembering the above sentence pattern, you can simply change the day or time to your preference. Now, the next step is to invite them if they are free:
Wǒ xiǎng qǐng nǐ chī wǎnfàn. I would like to invite you to dinner. |
我想请你吃晚饭。 |
Unfortunately, sometimes they are not free for your invitation. They may tell you they’ve already made another appointment:
Wǒ jīntiān yǒu gè yuēhuì. I have a date today. |
我今天有个约会。 |
No problem. Using what we learned today, to ask them again next time. But are you free tonight? Nǐ jīntiān wǎnshang yǒukòng ma?
It's easy as ABC!
