Hi! Wǒmen yòu jiànmiàn le! We meet again! Nǐ hǎo ma? In another experience, we reviewed and learned the usages of when, why and which. Now, let's focus on who, whom and what.

I am sure you know how to say “who” in Mandarin. Yes, that's “shéi”. In Mandarin, “whom” is also “shéi”.

FOR EXAMPLE:

Shéi fùzé zhèli?

Who is in charge around here?

谁负责这里?

Qǐng wèn nǐ zhǎo shéi?

May I know whom you are calling?

请问你找谁?

Qǐng wèn nǐ shì shéi?

May I know whom I am speaking to?

请问你是谁?
