Ni hao, Benny. Suo3 yi3 means so and therefore, and geng4 means more, so then… if I say “geng4 suo3 yi3”, would that mean “more so”?

Could you tell me how to say ‘moreso’ or ‘more than’, please?

Yes, “geng suo yi” is wrong. There are different translations in different context.

1. more than one thousand

we say “duo1 yu2” (多于), duo1 yu2 yi1 qian1 = more than one thousand

2. I’m more than willing to help

Here, more than is “fei1 chang2” (非常) or “hen3” (很). Wo3 fei1 chang2 yuan4 yi4 bang1 mang2 = I’m more than willing to help
