Some of my friends are being critical of my learning chinese, they say “why don’t you learn spanish instead, why would you want to learn chinese?” and I tell them “because I like the language and there are a lot of people that speak chinese”, I think they are being small minded, I don’t care becu…
HAHA, that was funny about people being critical of Chinese. One co-worker was learning German so he could talk to his Grandparents in their original language. Another co-worker said German is much more functional than Mandarin. I laughed becuase at the food court that day, I saw many more Chinese than Germans. The Chinese food vendor was also very impressed when I asked for an extra fork and said xie xie. He had to look twice and was so happy. It’s great to learn Mandarin, thanks also to Benny for his wonderful work and sharing with us! Xie xie Benny!!

Ni Hao Benny :0)
What a great website you’ve made!
The sound quality on this vid makes it really hard to pick up the tones though – will you be reposting it anytime soon?

认识 means know
e.g.
I know you by askbenny.
我通过askbenny认识你。
wǒ tōng guǒ askbenny rèn shí nǐ.
I know that guy, he is my colleague.
我认识那个人,他是我的同事。
