“ni zhen ke lian” = you’re so pity(?)
. . . is that like “you poor thing” or more like, “sucks to be you”?

I’ve heard of the phrase 可是 (ke3 shi4) in manderin, which I think also means “but.” If so, is there a difference between 可是 and 但是?

H Benny, your lessons are easy to swallow for beginners like me. Thanks.

I’ve also heard “bu4 guo4” also being translated as “but”. what’s the difference? Thanks.

Hi Benny1

Ni mingtian shangwu qu Suzhou ma? Has "shall we take a trip to Suzhou tomorrow above it. Is this the translation of this sentence or is it “Are you going to Suzhou tomorrow morning?”

By the way I am an English teacher living in Jiangyan just 3 hours from Shanghai (I have only been here 1 month hence the reason my Chinese is so poor!). Im very impressed with your lesson structure. So much clearer then the other websites. I am using a similar lesson structure to teach a friend English at the moment.
