Ive also seen a simple “help!” as “bang mang” or something similar..

Hi Daniel,

Yes,"bāng máng" is the noun form of “help”.

“bāng zhù” is the verb form of “help”.You can say “bāng” for short as well.This help is “to do someone a favor”.

In the comic,that help(jiù mìng) means “help someone out of trouble or danger”.
