Excellent lesson. I wish I had learned this last year. I was very late to a lunch invitation while visiting near Beijing because I did not understand telling time well enough. xie xie

This site is simply superb Benny. My wife has been learning from this site for just about a month, and she has already started communicating confidently with locals. I just started today, and I feel like completing all the lessons in one go!!!

Just do it and stop being afraid, eyitayo iman. In my expereince it has always been 100% positive even if I dont pronounce a word correctly. The Chinese are very helpful and will correct any mistake you may had made in a nice way…

Luis is right, you have nothing to worry about. I’ve heard mistakes and I’ve made mistakes but embarassment passes quickly. You’ll never learn unless you practice it with locals.

Saying that, I have heard some funny stories. 1 guy told a coworker that he forgot his foreskin (instead of wallet) and another guy asked for a french kiss while just trying to get someone’s attention. haha!

Hello emjei

12:46pm = 下午12点46分, “xià wǔ shí èr diǎn sì shí liù fēn”

Just a note it is lǎoshī Benny. In Chinese it is always title first then name.
