If so, how come Ni Hao means Hello?

It means “You Good?”…. well, are you. Think about it, keep it simple and you will learn.

To Lars Nisson:
Actually a separate Chinese character sometimes does not make any sense. But if you combine them, it would be totaly different. So I would suggest learning, remembering and using them phrase by phrase, such as Ni hao, zai jian(goodbye), zhuo zi(table).

Sounds great, Leo.
I am very happy to know that, keep up your hard study and if there is anything I can help, just post a question on scrapbook

Benny this is awesome, my Japanese teacher used a similar method of teaching and it just stuck in my head. Hopefully I’ll have as much fun with you(if not better)than I did with him! Xie Xie, Benny tian cai!

Hi,
The book is not correct, most of the time, if you use question words such as “when what what time”. We don’t put ma

Woa, you make it sound so simple. And it really would be, but to remember all the words is the hard thing.
But well, it’s only two days since I learn with you and at last I know how to say hello and thank you ^ and actually remember that.
It harder for me because I am from germany and not every english word is common to me. Double learning here ^.
Way to go benny, you’re great
xiexie!
