Tess is right! Yes, Kan means “look/see”.

Besides, “Kan kan” sometimes implies “think about/consider”. For example:

— Ni jue de zen me yang? (What do you think?)

— En… wo kan kan. (Uh… Let me think about it.)

- Although I don’t know what xu and xie means the meaning is clear :) but it would be nice if you’d explain the meaning anyway ;)
The thing with kan kan is cool, there’s an equivalent in german that has both meanings as well ^^

In the sentence “xu yao mai shen me ma?” what does xu means? Does it mean something like “you(the customer)”
If I got it right it means “Do you want to buy something?”

Hi,

In a standard way, we should not put “ma” after “shen me”.

Most of the time, when you use “shen me”, no use to use “ma”

Hi Rashid,

For the pronunciation, you can go to “Pin Yin Table" which is under “Chinese tools” to hear how to say it properly.

You can use “Pin Yin Converter” which is under Chinese tools to convert the tones for “zhege”

Let me know how it goes!

Benny
