第一,ZERO 是零,不是领.
第二, 在第一个数字和 第二个数字中间,不管有几个零,我们只读一个.
比如 2009是二千零九.20020是二万零二十.你明白了嘛?
我同意.零是很重要的.可是一也很重要,对吗?

Sometimes people use “yao” instead of “ling” is this the same “零” with a different pronounciation, or, are these people just blowing me off and trying to give me mis-information?

yao always be used for saying “one” on saying the phone numbers, because we dont want to mix"yi" and “qi” which is one and seven. ling is zero.
