It’s difficult to find a job

Recently, I've got some friends asked me to help them find a job or help their cousins or relatives to find a job, most of them are just graduated from university and they couldn't got a job offer. Even if they studied at good and famous universalities.

I had a very interesting discussion with my friend who is an executive of a foreign company. He complains that he couldn't find the capable people to fill some positions in the company. Then I asked him, what about the Chinese graduates? I believe they are many talents among them. He said: I don't need someone who is really good in terms of theoretical knowledge, in fact only few of graduates have the necessary innovative, practical abilities that we want, especially communication skill."

This is very interesting. Because in China, a university degree is consider a guarantee to a stable and respectable job, and people believe that a simple degree can also change your social status.

But it does work in this way anymore, your degree becomes useless and not competitive among so many others that all hold the same degree. It's gonna be a tough year for our fresh graduates.

Very interesting, I’m a software engineer and was looking for a job in Beijing, but no luck. Maybe my timing was really bad, finding a job in economic crises in Beijing, a highly competitive job market. Moreover, you have to be really good and outstanding to have companies in China hire you (a foreigner) with a good pay. I was once offered a job in Shenzhen, in a software company named Achievo, but the salary was not good enough for a foreigner. I also found a job in an American company in Beijing, with a very good pay, but the problem was it wasn’t registered with the authorities and expected me to handle my own visa process. Then I was offered a job in Chongqing, but still the salary was not upto my expectations. I have finally given up I guess.

The job market in China is really competitive, sometimes one single job has more than 500 hundred applicants, and you will find yourself are actually competing with someone who is more experienced than you. Especially those graduates.

in Italy we have a sad work situation. The best brains are compelleld to go Out of Italy to have a good work, and about simple work, foreign desperated people take away work from italian people, cause the chiefs of companies prefer desperated fellows who ask for a very little wage…and accept to work in conditions very dangerous about their life. As italian people doens’t accept these shamefully conditions of work and life, they remain without work and start to hate foreign people and start to born racism. It is a sad war between poors. If, on the contrary, you are en enginner or a doctor or a biologist o something of this kind, you have two solutions: fight a job in conditions less human than the ones accepted by foreign people as people from the East Europe or from North Africa, or Bangladesh,or, on the contrary, emigrate in noth Europe, USA or Canada or other far land. This is the true about work in Italy!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! The last social result of all this is the terrible decrease of births ’cause of the lacking of work and obviously of the possibility to pay a house. Young people are compelled to remain to live with their parents untill 40 years old!!!!!

Decrease of birth is a serious problem in many countries, because local population is being replaced by the foreign population. For example, in UK, there are many Indians and Chinese working. In UAE, there are many Filipinos, Bangladeshis, Pakistanis and Indians. Foreigners from poorer countries, dreaming to earn in dollars, pounds or euros do pose some threat to the local job searchers. In my country it’s the same, best brains all go out to earn more money.

you are right! I can give the example of my son plants biologist who published his thesis and was a very good doctor in Search, but they gave him only 800 eu for month and with this pay it is impossible to live. In order that, to live and to marry, not remaining in parents’ home, he is compelled to do the scientific informer in an american company which ask him “his blood”…. NOw he gains enaugh to live normally but his job start at 8am and finish at 8 pm!(Monday to friday) and every day he has to run with his car a lot of miles around the country. But we still thank God! we are still lucky! many friends of him are walking in the street …looking for something to do to live….

Things are pretty much the same in China too. At the moment it is even lucky to have just a job no matter how much you earn per month.

There are so many people who are still looking for a job.

Too competitive
